Golden Memorial State Park provides a tranquil, secluded setting perfect for an afternoon picnic or a vacation getaway. Nestled in a vale surrounded by tree covered hills,Golden Lake is the focal point of the park offering fishing in a peaceful, unspoiled environment. Golden Memorial State Park is named for a one-roomer schoolhouse that served the area over a century ago, standing on a site now a part of the park. No pets are allowed in cabins,villa, motels or any other park building

Golden Lake offers 15 acres of fresh water for fishing. The lake is stocked with bream, bass, and catfish, and fishing is permitted at no charge.

Swimming is not permitted in the lake.

Picnic Facilities:
A spacious shaded area overlooking Golden Lake is available for picnicking.
The park's 36 picnic sites feature tables and grills. Two large picnic pavilions with grills and restrooms are available, providing the ideal setting for family reunions, company picnics, or church or school outings.

Nature Trail
A four-mile nature trail winds around Golden Lake, affording close views of native birds, plants, and wildlife.

Native Pine Tree
Golden Memorial State Park is the home of the second largest pine tree found in MS.
